About Common Ground
There are some exceptional networking events out there with real value to freelancers and small business owners but they are focused on finding business opportunities. We’re more than that. Common Ground Gatherings unite people who understand self employment without you having to explain. We bring together people who might not see each other outside of a field or an exhibition hall and we create relationships that are focused more on friendships and solidarity than on potential revenue streams.

We are all freelancers / small business owners and we all believe that there’s a gap in the market for something that makes that way of life a bit less lonely.

Our Ethos
Common Ground has come about as something we, the founders, need for ourselves. Our working concept has always been about creating ‘friends not colleagues’. We want to create spaces - both in person and virtual - that feel safe and welcoming, as well as understanding of what we face in our jobs.
